DadArt Jewelry Care Guide
Each DadArt piece is handcrafted with select materials. This guide explains how to store, clean, and protect them to maintain their beauty and durability.
Introduction
DadArt jewelry is born from the union of contemporary design and craftsmanship. With a few simple steps, you can maintain the shine and integrity of your accessories: necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and pieces with natural stones.
1. Before wearing them
- Put on the jewels in the end of your routine (after-fragrance, makeup and hair products).
- Avoid wearing them in the shower, at the pool, or during activities where you may sweat a lot or use harsh detergents.
- Remove them before strenuous sports or manual labor to prevent bumps and tears.
2. DadArt materials & specific instructions
2.1 Metals (brass, steel, plating)
Even though our metals are nickel-free, prolonged contact with sweat, water and chemicals can accelerate oxidation or reduce the thickness of the plating. Clean with a soft, dry cloth and limits diving.
2.2 Natural stones and resins
Natural stones can be porous or delicate: avoid prolonged exposure to solvents, standing water, and strong detergents. To clean, use warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth; do not use abrasive brushes.
2.3 Leather (accessories with leather elements)
Protect leather from moisture: do not get it wet, clean it with a dry cloth, and store items away from direct light and heat sources. If necessary, use leather-specific products following the manufacturer's instructions.
3. Storage: where and how to store them
- Store your jewelry in a cool, dry place away from direct light.
- Use cloth bags or the original packaging to avoid scratches.
- Separate delicate pieces to prevent them from rubbing together (rings, chains, earrings).
- For sensitive metals, consider moisture-wicking bags or anti-tarnish strips.
4. Cleaning and ordinary maintenance
Immediately after use, wipe with a soft cloth to remove oils and residue. For a more thorough cleaning (about once a month, if you wear the pieces frequently): soak for a few minutes in warm water with neutral soap, rinse, and dry thoroughly—only when the materials allow it.
For delicate plating and finishes, always prefer a dry cloth and avoid frequent immersion.
5. Things to avoid
- Do not use strong solvents, bleach, or alcohol directly on the jewelry.
- Don't sleep with dangling earrings or bulky bracelets to avoid breakage.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to intense heat or direct sunlight, especially for natural stone.
- Do not scrub with abrasive materials and keep away sand and hard particles that can scratch.
6. If the jewel gets damaged: what to do
If your DadArt piece shows damage or loss of shine, please contact our customer service indicating the order number and attach photos of the problem. We'll work together to find a solution (restoration, polishing, or maintenance suggestions).
7. Quick FAQ about treatment
- Can I wear the jewelry in water (shower, swimming pool)?
- Not recommended: water, chlorine and salt water can damage finishes and stones.
- Why has the metal become dull or changed color?
- This is often due to natural oxidation or perfume/cosmetic residue. Gentle cleansing helps restore shine.
- How often should I clean them?
- After each use, wipe with a cloth; if used frequently, a deeper clean should be done about once a month.
- Are the materials suitable for those who are sensitive to nickel?
- Product descriptions always indicate the composition: our items are designed to be nickel-free and hypoallergenic.
